Key Problems We Address

The Kalgidhar Society, Baru Sahib, focuses on solving critical challenges in rural Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh. Our work targets the following key issues:

Limited Access to Quality Education

Rural regions face a lack of well-equipped schools, high dropout rates, and limited opportunities for girls’ education. We address this through Akal Academies that provide value-based education to over 70,000 students.

Gender Inequality and Women Empowerment

Women in rural areas have restricted access to education and employment. Through AIRWE, we provide vocational training and support to help women become financially independent.

Poor Healthcare Access

Villages often lack proper healthcare, leading to untreated medical conditions. We provide medical services through charitable hospitals, mobile health units, and health camps.

Drug Addiction

Drug addiction, especially among youth, is a growing issue in rural Punjab. Our de-addiction centers and awareness programs help rehabilitate affected individuals.

Economic Underdevelopment

High unemployment and lack of vocational skills keep rural communities in poverty. We offer skills development and career guidance to help rural youth secure meaningful jobs.

Barriers to Higher Education

Rural students struggle to access higher education due to financial and geographic challenges. Akal University and Eternal University provide higher education and professional training to rural youth.
