As word spread of the outstanding accomplishments of Ms. Zeba Fatima, an assistant professor in the department of education at Akal University and a recent recipient of the Youth Icon Award 2024 from the ICERT International Council for Education, Research, and Training, the walls of the university campus burst with happiness.
Research Projects and Publications
Ms. Zeba hails from New Sir Syed Nagar, Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. She completed her comprehensive education at the prestigious Institute of India Aligarh Muslim University, graduating with an MA in English Literature, B.Ed., M.Ed.
Ms. Zeba is working on various research projects with national and international collaborations. She is working with Mrs. Joanna Skelton from Oxford Brookes, UK, on a project entitled “Perception of Newly Qualified Teachers as Agents of Change in Mathematical Pedagogy.” Because of her immense talent, dedication, and empathetic behavior, she holds a membership in the English Language Teachers’ Association of India. She is also a lifetime member of the Council for Teacher Professional Development. And holds membership as the Global Peace Ambassador of India in the Global Peace Chain. She has published several research papers in reputed journals.
Significance of the Youth Icon Award
The reputed accolade was granted during the one-day International Multidisciplinary Conference on “Recent Advancement in Education, Research, Social Science, Science, & Engineering” organized by the International Council for Research and Training (ICERT), New Delhi. The event featured eminent scholars and experts from diverse fields, and receiving an award was a proud moment for all of them. The recognition was a testament to Ms. Zeba’s diligent work in the field of education.
Conference Experiences
To expand her expertise and learning, Ms. Zeba Fatima has attended various conferences and workshops. She presented a paper at the International Conference on Changing Paradigms of Higher Education in India. At the second International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research, she presented her research paper. She secured remarkable experience at the International Conference on Role of Education, Literature, Culture and Society in Global Scenario, Teacher Education Department, Shri Ram Suhag Tilak College of Education, Nepal. Presenting a paper in an “International Seminar on Contemporary Issues and Challenges in Management, Law, and Education” and marking her attendance at the conference is also noteworthy.
Fostering the learning
Ms. Zeba believes in a compassionate approach that recognizes the diverse needs of her students. A learner-centered approach creates an inclusive and healthy environment in her classroom, and students attend her class very enthusiastically. Ms. Zeba Fatima feels fortunate about the holistic education she received. She also acknowledges the fact that lack of awareness and prevailing socioeconomic disparities are hindering the availability of education. Contemplating the potential of education, she, along with her husband, Md. Tabish Kamran is planning to open a school in West Bengal. She also wants to contribute to elevating the quality of education and increasing its reach.
